Fuel Scarcity: Kachikwu Begs Nigerians, Says Queues To Disappear On April 7

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, who had insisted that the fuel scarcity across parts of the country would linger till May, in a dramatic u-turn on Tuesday, pleaded with Nigerians as he assured that the long queues in the country’s petrol stations would disappear on Monday, April 7, 2016.

The Petroleum minister, who doubles as the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) made this known when he appeared before the Senate committee on Petroleum (Downstream) over the fuel scarcity ravaging the country.

The Minister said: “By 6th or 7th April, the long queues in filing stations would disappear.”

Kachikwu also apologized to Nigerians over his statement that the biting fuel scarcity will linger till May.

It will be recalled, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu had blasted Kachikwu for telling Nigerians that he “was not trained as a magician”, a reference to the lingering fuel scarcity that appears to be defying efforts of the NNPC.

APC Declares Fayose A Threat To National Security

The Ekiti State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the recent behavior and utterances of Governor Ayodele Fayose, as constituting a serious threat to national security.

A statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Monday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Olatunbosun, alleged that Fayose’s perceived unguided statements suggest acts of sabotage targeted at rendering national institutions ineffective in order to create instability in an already tottering economy.

He said that Mr. Fayose’s unguided serial statements had exposed him as a man fighting a lone battle against the Federal Government over alleged selfish motives.

The statement cited the governor’s alleged death wish for President Muhammadu Buhari at a rally held at Fajuyi Square, Ado-Ekiti, over the weekend to welcome the detained member of the House of Assembly, Akanni Afolabi, to the state capital as a case study.

The statement reads: “We have heard of reports of Governor Fayose inciting the people to stone the operatives of the DSS anywhere they are seen. This is besides saying many unprintable things about the President, such as that he (Buhari) would soon die, and declaring the DG of DSS, Lawal Musa Daura personal non-grata in Ekiti State.

Report Says Boko Haram Kingpin, Shekau Urged Members To Surrender To Nigeria

There are strong indications emerging in the early hours of today, Thursday claiming that the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau has finally bowed to the superior force of the Nigerian military.

According to a video published by LeadershipNg, the leader of the nefarious death cult, Shekau, who was rumoured dead, is spotted urging his followers to “surrender to save themselves”.

In the eight-minute video, which is now trending on social media and YouTube, Shekau is seen holding a rifle beside one of the black flags associated with ISIS.

Shekau, who spoke slowly in a mixture of Arabic and the northern Nigerian language Hausa, appeared more frail than in previous videos.

However, a careful look into the speech made by Shekau shows that the message urging the Islamists to lay down their weapons in the video was false.

Some critics further suggested that a man that wants to surrender would not carry arms on his shoulders as was seen on the video.
