Security Chiefs Move To Stop Explosions In Kano Motor Parks
On Tuesday, last week, 12 persons, again lost their lives to a suicide bomb explosion in a busy motor park in Kano State.
The park, which is known as Kano Line Motor Park, is a traffic hub for passengers travelling to and from different parts of the country, including those coming from the North East, where the spate of insurgency is most profound.
The victims, many of who were burnt and mangled beyond recognition by the blast, included the two persons suspected to have detonated the bomb in the middle of the park.
Against this background, heads of different security organisations in the state decided to hold an interactive session with the leadership of the various motor parks and bus terminals in the state. The focus was to educate them on terror and create a partnership that would prevent insurgency in any of the motor parks in the state.
Those in attendance at the crucial meeting, which took place at the Bompai Police Officers’ Mess, included Kano State Police Commissioner, Alhaji Ibrahim K Idris, the Brigade Commander, Nigeria Army, Brigadier General Ohi Ejemai, Commandant, Nigeria Air Force, Air Commodore Ahigbe Iyamu, as well as the Director of the State Security Service. There were also many officials of the state in attendance.

FG Reviews Policy On Tax Holiday
The Federal Government has revised its policy on tax holiday for investors in the economy granted under the Pioneer Status Incentive (PSI) Scheme. The tax relief would now be for three years instead of five years. The Nigerian Investment Promotion Council, NIPC, the federal agency in-charge of the policy, has already started writing to the companies who are hitherto enjoying the holiday to intimate them of the policy revision while urging them to comply.

Bloody Weekend In P-Harcourt As Gunmen Kill 11
It was a bloody weekend in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital as 11 persons were shot dead at different locations by unknown gunmen. Six of the victims were killed on Worlu Street in D Line close to Oroworoku community when the assailants stormed a spot near a mechanic workshop at about 7.15 pm demanding to see the owner of a vehicle parked outside.
