NEW YORK, NY (August 19, 2016) — Today, SG Lewis unveils his anxiously awaited Yours EP [Casablanca Records] at all digital retailers. Check it out here!
In addition to the title track “Yours”—also boasts the new single “Meant To Be.” In order to create the track, the critically acclaimed 20-year-old London visionary teamed up with a childhood hero: Chad Hugo of The Neptunes. It took someone closer to home (UK label-mate Howard from Disclosure) to convince SG that now was the time to take the leap from behind the decks. “Howard was adamant that I should try and vocal it – something I hadn’t done fully on my own songs before, but had wanted to try for a while.” For the first time the“Meant To Be” features SG’s own vocals.
The EP also includes breakout recent single ‘Holding Back’ (with Gallant): ‘Holding Back’ was playlisted at Radio 1, 1Xtra, saw Lewis surpass 20 million Spotify plays and be named iTunes and Apple Music’s New Artist Of the Week.
With ‘Meant To Be’ remixes to come from Ta-Ku, Fono and Salute, SG Lewis has also confirmed details today of his biggest headline show to date. He will headline London’s Koko on November 17th, and will be heading to the U.S. to perform at Made in America Festival as well as select dates throughout the east Coast.
SG Lewis burst onto the scene as one of electronic music’s most exciting new talents last year. His breakout single “Warm” racked up 11 million-plus streams on Spotify and held #4 on the Spotify Viral Chart in addition to generating 4 million YouTube plays and counting. Both Pharrell Williams and Disclosure spun “Warm” on their respective Beats 1 shows, while Pete Tong, Annie Mac, and more have shown support. It was one of the “most Shazam’ed tracks from U.S. TV in 2015” following a prominent placement on HBO’s Ballers. It also received consistent support from Radio 1, 1Xtra, Beats 1, and more, while he received critical props courtesy of Stereogum, MTV, i-D, Clash, Dummy, and many other tastemakers. In addition,SG Lewis has graced stages such as Coachella, Glastonbury, Lovebox, Wildlife, Parklife, Love Saves the Day, Secret Garden Party, and many others.
