“Jamestown Revival are a force to be reckoned with.” – Paste

“(Jamestown Revival)…are becoming one of the country’s preeminent Americana duos.” – Consequence of Sound

“Recorded in a barn in Austin, Texas, “Love Is A Burden” is a gritty and perfectly unpolished track reminiscent of Brothers-era Black Keys with a modest pinch of country twang thrown in for good measure.” – Baeble Music

NEW YORK, NY (August 12, 2016) —Today, critically acclaimed Austin, TX indie-Americana duo JAMESTOWN REVIVAL – Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance – announce the release date for their anxiously awaited second full-length album, The Education of A Wandering Man [Republic Records], available on October 7th. Starting today the album is available for pre-order at all digital retailers. Get it HERE.

The pre-order includes instant grat downloads of the recently released first single “Love Is A Burden” and now “Back To Austin.” Written on Jonathan’s front porch, the acoustic “Back To Austin” serves as an homage to the musicians’ hometown and catalyzed the process behind the group’s second album.

About the album, the band comments, “The Education of A Wandering Man chronicles the four years since we wrote UTAH. It’s the next chapter. ‘California’ opened up doors for us that always seemed infinitely far away, and the memories we made playing our music around the country are memories that we’re lucky to have. In the spirit of JAMESTOWN REVIVAL, we once again decided to forego the traditional studio for a makeshift location. This time around, it was a farmhouse in the Austin, TX Hill Country. The songs on this album are nothing more than a group of friends playing music in a living room. While we hope they are reminiscent of what people enjoyed about the first go-round, we also hope they take people somewhere new.”

Upon release last month, “Love Is A Burden” began generating buzz for the forthcoming record. Baeble Music excitedly claimed, “‘Love Is A Burden’ is exactly what JAMESTOWN REVIVAL fans were hoping for and more.” In order to give fans personal and deep insight into the record, the band actually penned a letter addressed to “Our Comrades.” Check out the full letter HERE and full tracklisting below.

The band kicked off their North American headline tour in support of The Education of A Wandering Man this week and are performing at some of their largest venues to date including LA’s Greek Theater on September 22nd and New York’s Bowery Ballroom on October 24th. Check out the confirmed itinerary below. Tickets can be purchased here.

In 2014, JAMESTOWN REVIVAL emerged with their breakthrough full-length album UTAH.  Blending literary storytelling, rock ‘n’ roll grit, indie spirit, and country soul, iTunes crowned UTAH the “Best of 2014: Singer-Songwriter Album of the Year.” With the band’s popular anthem, “California (Cast Iron Soul)” leading the way, everyone from Rolling Stone and KCRW to the Wall Street Journal and The Boston Globe featured the band. JAMESTOWN REVIVAL then made their national television debut with rollicking performances on Conan, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and Last Call With Carson Daly, and brought a whole lot of live ruckus to festivals such as Coachella, Stagecoach, Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, and Bottlerock Festival, among others.
