Episode 101 Poster Designed by Sophie McTear

“Live At 9:30,” the groundbreaking TV music variety show launching nationwide on public television this spring, announced today that it is initiating an official poster design competition. “Live At 9:30” is conducting a nationwide search for artists to design limited-edition, collectable posters of original graphic art for each episode of the series. As an example, the poster for the premiere episode of “Live At 9:30” can be viewed above. The poster from Episode 101 was designed by local Washington, DC artist, illustrator and poster designer Sophie McTear. At just 20 years of age, McTear’s distinctive designs mix her passion for music with minimalist styles and dark and light themes, creating eye-catching illustrations that have garnered plenty of praise throughout the music and artistic community.

A different artist will be selected for each of the remaining 11 episodes of the premiere season of “Live At 9:30.” All posters will be sold as limited editions on the “Live At 9:30” website, with proceeds to be shared with the artists. The submission process for the poster design contest is detailed below.

The films – which must be music-related or prominently feature music – must be no longer or shorter than 3 minutes. “Live At 9:30” will consider any type of film: mini-documentaries, animation, biopic or fiction.
