BRANDY CLARK RECEIVES TWO GRAMMY NOMINATIONS: BEST NEW ARTIST

AND COUNTRY ALBUM OF THE YEAR

LOS ANGELES, CA - (Dec. 5, 2014) - Warner Bros. Records recording artist Brandy Clark got a great start to her day when the Recording Academy announced that she had received two GRAMMY nominations: the all-genre Best New Artist of the Year and the Country Album of the Year for her critically-acclaimed 12 Stories.

Clark was boarding a plane when she learned of her Country Album of the Year nomination. She said, “This is just AMAZING!!!!! I really don’t have the words for it. To see 12 Stories in the middle of all of those great albums and artists is a dream come true.” Clark is travelling to Albuquerque, NM where she will perform tomorrow night at the Isleta Resort and Casino Showroom along with fellow Country Album of the Year contender Lee Ann Womack.

Later in the day, upon learning of her New Artist of the Year nomination, Clark said, “I am almost speechless. This just doesn’t seem real. I could never have imagined the journey my team and I have been on since 12 Stories was released last year. I have received such support from the fans, the critics, the industry, and my fellow artists and songwriters. I am beyond thankful to be included in this category with my fellow nominees.”

12 Stories was released in 2013 on independent label Slate Creek Records. The album was named the best album of 2013 in any genre by New York Magazine’s Jody Rosen, New York Post’s Michaelangelo Matos, NPR’s Ann Powers, and Boston Globe’s Sara Rodman; was the No. 2 record for Fresh Air’s Ken Tucker; a top 10 choice for Los Angeles Times’ Randall Roberts and The New Yorker’s Sasha Frere-Jones; and among the top five country albums of the year by Rolling Stone, among many other honors.

Clark, who was named the 2014 Music Row Breaththrough Artist of the Year and won the 2014 CMA Song of the Year Award for co-writing the Kacey Musgraves hit “Follow Your Arrow,” signed with WBR in November.
