On December 16th, it was made official that the Michigan-based automaker Chrysler Group LLC had changed it’s name to FCA US LLC. The name change announcement also came with the news that it will have no affect on the company’s holdings, management team, board, brands or headquarter location in Auburn Hills, Michigan. FCA US LLC’s parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (FCA) officially took on it’s new name in October when it was listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The name changes will allow the companies to have aligned naming standards.
There are currently over 77,000 FCA US employees with the majority of that workforce located here in North American (96%). These employees are responsible for the operation of 36 manufacturing facilities, with 23 in the Unites States, six in Canada, and seven in Mexico.
FCA and FCA US continue to work together to align the companies with the business plan it presented back in May of 2014. Both companies are also proud of their heritage with principals dating back to 1925 with Walter P. Chrysler’s original vision for his brand and Fiat’s beginnings back in 1899.
