On January 3rd, Chrysler Group LLC reported on it’s December 2013 sales results.  For the month, Chrysler Group brand vehicle U.S. sales hit a total of 161,007 units, a number that accounts for a 6 percent increase over the 152,367 units sold in December of 2012.  This number additionally counts for Chrysler Group’s best December since the year 2007. According to Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales, “Chrysler Group ended the year with a 6 percent sales gain in December and our 45th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains.  Our Jeep and Ram Truck brands had a strong finish led by the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee and the Ram pickup truck, Motor Trend’s 2014 Truck of the Year. Sales of the new Cherokee topped 15,000 units in December as our newest SUV continues its solid sales performance out of the gate.”  Other exciting sales highlights for the month include:

Jeep brand posted a 34 percent increase over 2012′s December sales totals.  This was the largest sales gain out of the entire Chrysler Group brand lineup and the best December sales ever for the Jeep brand.

The Jeep Cherokee ended the month with a total of 15,308 units sold.

The Jeep Patriot (with a 35 percent increase) and Jeep Wrangler (with a 4 percnet increase) each had their best December sales ever.

Ram pickup truck sales were up 11 percent for the month.  It was also the 44th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains for Ram and it’s best December sales since 2004.

The Ram Truck brand had a sales increase total of 17 percent over December 2012.  For the year, ram truck sales were up by 22 percent.  This accounts for the largest percentage sales increase out of any Chrysler brand for the year 2013.

Full-year sales were up by 14 percent for the Dodge brand.

Dodge Charger sales were up by 29 percent over December 2012.

Chrysler Town & Country sales were up by 9 percent over December 2012.
