Looking for summer fun for the kids? Check out the new 30A Surf Camp.

All summer long experienced surfers will run two three-hour camps a day at two beach locations along Scenic Highway 30A, getting kids in the water, teaching them safety and helping them catch their first (or fiftieth) wave.

The classes begin May 11 and run through September 10. They will be held Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Seagrove Plaza in Seagrove Beach and the Ed Walline Regional Beach Access across from Gulf Place.

Students of all experience levels are welcome and all instructors are qualified and CPR certified.

Even if a kid has never surfed before, Jesse Davis, owner of 30A Adventures, which is putting on the camp, said with three hours he can get almost anyone standing up on a board and riding a wave.

“In the Gulf we have really shallow sandbars and the waves are mellow and very meager at times so it’s a good starting point for kids to learn to surf,” Davis said. “And on top of that, the water is beautiful, it’s clear, and you get to see tons of marine life out there.”

Classes are capped at 12 students, so reserve your spot TODAY!
