Jameis Winston’s first official NFL pass was picked off and returned 26 yards for a touchdown by the Tennessee Titans’ Coty Sensabaugh. It was an ignominious start for Winston, whom the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took with the No. 1 pick of the 2015 draft, especially given his debut came against Marcus Mariota. Picked one spot after Winston, Mariota fired four first-half TD passes in Tampa while Winston was busy piling up turnovers (two INTs before intermission, and he nearly lost a fumble).

Who else made a positive first impression in their big NFL reveals?

Ameer Abdullah’s first carry for the Detroit Lions was a 24-yard TD against the San Diego Chargers.

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson took a pass 55 yards for a touchdown to seal a win over the New Orleans Saints.

Karlos Williams ran for 55 yards and a TD in the Buffalo Bills’ upset of the Indianapolis Colts.

After a sparkling preseason, Tyler Lockett returned his first punt as a pro 57 yards to give the Seattle Seahawks a 7-0 lead in St. Louis.

Kansas City Chiefs CB Marcus Peters picked off Houston Texans QB Brian Hoyer and made seven tackles in K.C.’s win.

Jets DL Leonard Williams, the highest-drafted defensive player (sixth overall) to see the field Sunday, made five tackles for a New York D that allowed just 10 points.

New England Patriots rookie guards Shaq Mason and Tre’ Jackson received praise from Tom Brady after seeing extensive playing time in victorious debuts.

Pittsburgh Steelers OLB Bud Dupree notched a sack in New England.

WR Rashad Greene scored the Jacksonville Jaguars’ only TD, though RB T.J. Yeldon was solid enough with 67 yards from scrimmage.

DT Jordan Phillips had the Miami Dolphins’ only sack in their 17-10 win at Washington.
