Last year, I set an audacious (for me) goal of reading one book every 9 days or 40 in one year. I accomplished 37 of those 40, and this year I’m looking forward to setting another audacious goal.
50 books
One book every week. As I reorganize and attempt something different for the first quarter of 2014, I want to continue to be intentional about reading. I learn, I disagree, I get stretched when I read. I converse with A about it, and I have something to ponder during the tasks of my day.
To follow last year’s pattern, here’s the 12 books I want to focus on completing:
January: One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp
February: Start by Jon Acuff
March: She Said Yes: The Unlikely Martyrdom of Cassie Bernall by Misty Bernall
April: The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian
May: Sacred Parenting: How Raising Children Shapes Our Souls by Gary Thomas
June: Too Small To Ignore by Wes Stafford
July: Introverts in the Church: Finding Our Place in an Extroverted Culture by Adam McHugh
August: Upgrade: 10 Secrets to the Best Education for Your Child by Kevin Swanson
September: Rich Habits by Thomas Corley
October: The Great Omission: Fulfilling Christ’s Commission Completely by Steve Saint
November: Home-Making by J.R. Miller
December: The Myth of Multitasking: How “Doing it All” Gets Nothing Done by Dave Crenshaw
There are many, many more books I want to read this year. I can’t wait to get started!
P.S. If you ever want to buy me a book, I won’t stop you. And I have no opposition to receiving used books, either.
Your turn: What books are you looking forward to reading in 2014?
