With an actual temperature at 5am of 20 degrees below zero, not counting wind chill, several area school districts have decided to delay opening for two hours. The wind chill in Ithaca makes it feel like 30 below. A wind chill advisory is in effect until 10am Tuesday.

Ithaca City School District is opening on a two-hour delay. A cold weather bus advisory is in effect. Students who can see their stops from their homes can wait inside until they see the bus approaching.

ICSD buses will make additional stops downtown at about 10:40am at the Tompkins County Public Library, Southside Community Center, and 3rd and Hancock Streets for IHS and Boynton students, and Dewitt buses will pick up at Salem and Birchwood Drive North, and Winston Court and the Walkway, at about 10:40am.

Trumansburg Central School District, South Seneca Central School District, Watkins Glen Central School District, Odessa-Montour Central School District, and Corning - Painted Post Area School District are all opening on a two-hour delay Tuesday.

Syracuse City School District is opening on a two-hour delay. Staff should report at the regular time.

The Cortland Enlarged City School District board of education meeting   scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed to Wednesday, February 25th.
