A Fernie group trying to develop a BMX facility has hit a bump in the road.
A Sub committee of the Fernie Mountain Bike Club is trying to develop a BMX race track that could host events.
Committee Chair Ryan Schultz says the area they were looking at is no longer available.
Schultz says the land in the new Montane sub-division could have lead to one of the nicest BMX facilities in Canada.
He explains they are pursuing a partnership with the City similar to the one that exists for the Dirt Jump Park near the Aquatic Centre.
He believes the BMX facility would attract athletes from all over as the activity is now an Olympic Sport and racers could train in Fernie.
