Wipro3D, the additive manufacturing business unit of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, and EOS today announced a strategic alliance to offer a complete suite of standard and customised 3D printing solutions.
Based on the laser melting technology, the additive manufacturing -- technologies that build 3D objects -- solutions cater to a wide range of industries including aerospace, space, industrial, automotive and oil and gas.
The alliance will benefit both new and existing customers of Wipro3D and EOS with the technically superior additive manufacturing solutions, practices and knowledge, the company said in a statement here.
The alliance will deliver the complete value chain of additive manufacturing solutions from design to production, enabled through consulting, engineering design, DFAM (design for additive manufacturing), materials research, custom parameter development, post processing, prove out, and production capabilities, it said.
"We will soon set up a state-of-the-art additive manufacturing solutions cum experience centre in Bengaluru," Pratik Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, said.
The proposed centre will act as a platform for other additive manufacturing solution providers to participate in the 3D printing solutions ecosystem, he said.
Adrian Keppler, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), EOS, said, "India is a key market and has a pivotal position in our global strategy. We believe this partnership will create value for both the companies."
Terrence Oh, Vice President Asia Pacific, EOS, said the partnership could serve as a blueprint for a global roll out of such joint offerings.
