Many feeds dont work after OPML import

Hi there,

I recently changed to feedreader and tried to import my old feeds via opml (exported by gregarius). it seemed to work, but after all i noticed that many of the feeds dont get updated at all. if i update them manually it shows the activity in the status bar, but after "update complete" (or whatever it says after success) there are still no entries. i checked the urls of those feeds and they are all correct. the only way to force them to work is by copying and pasting the url to a manually created new feed entry... then it works. but the imported entries dont and i dont want to create every single feed entry manually again (i got many! *lol*).

Could you try Feedreader

Could you try Feedreader 3.09 development release
http://www.feedreader.com/node/795

i already did

I am already using this build, after I read about it earlier today here in the forums. But it doesn't fix this issue. However, one other thing is fixed with it: The list of articles is way faster rendered now :-)

same issues - has this been fixed?

I also have had this problem on two separate workstations. I e-mailed myself my OPML file to work so I can view it and installed a fresh copy of 3.08. Some feeds update and some do not. I've tried deleting all and re-importing, same issue. I did, however, delete the individual feed itself, and manually re-added it, to get it to work.

My question is, why won't this work by importing? I have quite a few that do not work and don't feel like manually deleting/re-adding them.

HELP!

Solution

Hello,

I had exactly the same problem than you, and I didn't want to re-import manually all my feeds...

So the trick is : save your opml file, erase all (or uninstall), re-install 3.08 and before doing anything, update the exe file with the 3.09 version. Only after that, relaunch feedreadeder and import your opml file. Feeds should be updated correctly after the import.

I try to update to 3.09 at the beginning after OPML import but that did not resolve anything, some feeds were still not updated correctly. I guess that the import OPML function from 3.08 is somehow broken.

Cheers,
