I'm not very familar with Vista (but there are some odd cases, involving security, that are cousing big problems to FR, namely file/registry virtualization).

To solve it, create custom directory, for example c:\FRSyncfiles or better, under My Documents. Then take Synchronization preferences and point folder to this location.
