I have been experiencing excessive hard drive activity while using Feedreader 3.10. This could also be linked to the version of F-Secure Client Security (7.01) I have installed. While my PC is idle I see a large number of disk writes from both applications. When Feedreader is completely closed the disk activity stops!

You can try Tools->Options->Advanced
checkbox: add additional performance, this forces firebird database to use more memory (ram) and maybe it helps to reduce disk I/O writes.
